A reflection from VP: Clubs & Associations, Kara McDowell
With heavy hearts and due to unforeseen circumstances, we had to part ways with our clubs management platform – The Perch. In December, we received word from the software developer of The Perch that they would no longer be providing the software that we used to run our platform; as a result, our department had to quickly transition to a new platform within just a couple of weeks. Throughout the winter semester, our department worked hard to move all processes and resources over to the Students' Union website to make sure this obstacle did set our clubs and associations back one bit. We have expanded our webpages to include everything that our groups need for the time being and are so proud of our student leaders for being resilient and adapting well to this unexpected change.
Although we were disappointed to lose our platform that we had spent tireless hours growing, notably over last summer, we are using this opportunity to learn more about the wants and needs of our department and its affiliate organizations, and are excited to see what new clubs management platforms are available on the market!
